Technical Diagnostic 3 pin location

Hi I've brought an obd2 wifi as anyone else tried this with an android/iPhone app ? can't find the location of the 3 pin socket.. Been told near the coolant bootle but couldn't find it.. Found 1 near battery but might be abs!? I've got 16v turbo 1996
