So, Dessy is coming along nicely. She got a fresh ticket over the weekend and is running like a dream. I got the tints on and they look great from a distance. A few bad bits up close, but it was my first time  I managed to get one clear indicator on and the other had the wires stripped, so I will get round to soldering it up.

The alloys are coming along nicely. I just need to do something with the centre caps. They've had 3 coats of primer, 2 colour and 2 lacquer. But, despite all the layers, you can still see the bits I missed when stripping the paint off. I guess you live and learn. The refurb in total cost me £29 so I'm not gonna complain. I'll upload some pictures later as my phone is playing up :)

Picture time...

The wheels are going to look nice on her I think.

do like a black cinq ;) now i need to own a red one and ive had the lot :p cant beat good 16v swap for ease of power gain,8v is still good fun (y)

Yeah, black and red are my favourite colours for them. I am just holding off any major modifications for the time being, but 16v power will definitely be coming my way ;). I haven't driven either, but have been in an 8v and even that makes a huge difference, so I can't wait to see what a 16v has to offer.

So I am in the process of buying new tyres. I believe 195/45/14 are they best for size but what brand should I go for? I have seen uniroyal rainsports? and toyo proxy tr1's if memory serves me correctly. Any of these any good and does anyone know where I can find them cheapest.

Thanks.

stay well away from the proxies ,, as ive ahd a few sets ... i got though them in just over 4k miles and that isnt hard driving,, a bit of it was :),,and they are horrible in the wet understeer everywere , but soon as its Dry there awsome Ive ran rain sports before and they are EPIC!!! , i have got the sonars on my speedlines and they get death and for a "ditch finder " tyre there good ,, ive also got some yokos on my delta wheels ,,, Awsome in the dry ,, but soon as a bit of wet on the road , there useless...

Thanks. Looks like rainsports are my best bet then. After all I do live in the lake district - so something thats good in the wet makes sense.
