not a lot! I have porcelin caps, not full caps though. and a couple of fillings.
I was also sedated during the time at the dentist. If my mum was having a couple of caps for 1.5K, it doesnt take much to rack up a grand on top of that So i wouldnt complain about paying a few quid on NHS

Ive had no fees to pay and i am 21
yeah new prices suck. what amde it worse was had a gold cap put on just before end of april and ther eis a problem with it. but my dentiss stopped nhs work on 1st of april and is refusing to see me. soooo now i hav to get another nhs dentist and probbaly pay them to sort it instead of getting it fixed for freee as my dentist was crap.
if i need a filling now i just wont have it done. will wait till i need a couple and get al done for same price. bloody dentists are high way robbery.

If you think about it, it's cheaper than a garage and dentists have to study for a long time and they normally have an assistant, receptionist, expensive weapons of torture and the world's largest malpractice insurance premium. Even at minimum wage you looking at well over £25 a hour to cover their costs.

my uncle, his son, and another cousin of mine are all dentists, they find the nhs scales are literally strangling them, as a result within the year all will have moved over to the private sector, for the younger 2 its worse due to limited income, high overheads and a student bill that may take them the best part of a decade to kill off.......
I'd never thought of it that way.. but if you look at IT consultants for home pc's they charge £39 per hr for just diagnosis.... i think £15 is pretty good for a check up... i think the difficult part is that a lot of us (younger folks) have never had to pay before...it's foreign territorypoggy said:

Ive got a problem at the moment and they recon there is nothing wrong - they took an xray and said all is ok - I said im having to take ibuprofen every 4 hours for the last 3 months so clearly it is not fine, ''well give it a few more months see if it's just an infection thats taking a while to settle!''
The only plus was becuase I started my treatment (I went to see him before the 1st originally) before the 1st of April so my Xray was only £2.88 lol if it had been after the 1st it would have been closer to £20 lol
Apparently the government only cover 20% now of NHS dental work...I would rater cover the extra 20% myself and go private and get seen quicker (it takes me on average 8 weeks to get an appointment) and get the work sorted quicker!

H had his tooth ripped out last wednesday, I dont think it was much tbh. but i am sure he will answer that for himself

If you are in full time edication and 16-18 then you get treatments free of charge. 19 and over and you then fill out an HC1 and are assessed on income. It is perfectly possible to be a full time student and earn over the income levels that give you free treatment - when I was studying it was only £8k per year and I got £3.5k student loan and £5k wages from my part time job. And guess what, I only got what black seicento gets because I worked my ass to the bone. Had I been supported by my parents, I wouldn't have to declare income and would have got free treatment - this si aimed at totally the wrong people and it's the poor who end up paying to subsidise the rich
sorry for that, been a while since i filled one out, because i am a single parent family and my mum earns less than a certain amount i get it all for free. Juts read the form

If you live in wales you get free nhs checkups until you are 25, whethere you are a student or not!! However you do have to find an nhs dentist first. This alsos applies if you normally live in a foreign country (such as england) and you are studying at a welsh university (you dont have to be a student, just have an address in wales).
