Yes its damn hard unless yure good with yure techniques.

The boot lid is pressed so that the area around the lock and handle is facing out instead of being recessed like most usual designs. It needs taking to with an angle grinder and balls of steel. Then it needs reinforcing (Id love to see yu weld a plate in behind the lock accurately - theres only about 40 x 40mm to manouvre in!) and filling, spraying.

Im leaving mine to a pro- I dont trust myself with the grinder in that small a space!!

if youve got a system in there then its worth all the effort any day, the more things you can do to stop the thieving b***ards nicking your stuff the better.

Also when the plastic handle is removed and you see the bent out lip that is behinfd dont worry all you need to do is manipulate it flat with the panel using a ball pane hammer carefully and the plate the hole as you would do a normal hole welding from the outside with good penetration

Its a piece of p1ss to do - the lip comes off easily with an 80 grit flap-disc on a small grinder. You use a MIG welder to stick any 1mm thick piece inside the hole(s) and then fill and paint. Lose the wiper and washer for an even better look!!

Untill i get mine done, i just disabled the central locking (put installation tape ova the terminals in boot) so its locked wat eva even if i open the rest of the car. This way if someone breaks into me car and pops the central locking (which was done before) the boot dont open,

Just a quick fix really, they could always pick the boot lock, but thats harder than just bending down the top of the door and sticking ur arm in to lift the door pin. Toke a matter of seconds for them to bend open my door wit a plank of wood.

Have you disabled the cable operated release also then?

The one by the drivers seat.

Oh just thought that you might actually need into it d'oh!

oh so maybe get rid of the cable and put in a solenoid then and hide the button somewhere?

I think 2mm minimum personally--if not 3mm!

That could actually be a good idea, hide it under the steering wheel or under the dash, and remove the cable lever. Might think of that, then impossible to get in unless they know where the button is.
