I'm after some decent HT leads for my 1.6 16v
Any suggestions?

Fiat. All HT leads are the same when new. No such thing as 'performance' leads.

Its just silicone ones (which yours will be) last longer than the old rubber ones.

Re: Re: Decent HT Leads

Woody, I replied your email.

Mine fitted first time.,..(the only ever thing i've fitted without sweat) and works a treat.

I recommend you replace your spark leads while you are at it.

There is an article in Lax Flower which kinda agrees with Tom. Some big time tuners say they would leave the stock leads well alone unless they were knackered (then replace with aftermarket ones) but to be honest they all do the same thing.

Mine were £15 for the set and look MUCH better than original ones.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Decent HT Leads

If they are old and worn the insulation is not as good as it should be and the spark energy can leak out. If they are REALLY shot they will glow in the dark, albeit very faintly.

They claim performance ones are performace cos when you replace your 10 year old worn perished old ones you do get a performance increase. You'd get the same increase with just new cheap ones too ;)

Same with performance exhausts, you are replacing an old rusty one thats half blocked with soot and big chunks of flakey rust. Of course you will notice a difference :) Its just the difference is usually no better than if you just fitted a new stock exhaust.

what about these so called performance spark plugs ?

they any good ?

Same, the splitfire has been debunked so many times by various tests.

I use relatively cheap plugs (bosch super 4, £20/set) and change them every 9-12 months rather.
