Styling 'Debadging' a Tipo

I know the badge on the front grille is easily changed (recently bought a Punto one to replace the old Tipo one, nice upgrade with a little grille modification if anyone's thinking of it) but the rear badges... are they just stuck on or are they held on with pins?
And if anyone's taken them off before, how did you do it? I know the common way is a hairdryer and dental floss, but this isn't going to work if pins are involved.
I just want to put on a new set to freshen up the car, as they're pretty faded and are letting him down. I know i'll never find a 'new' Tipo 1.4ie badge but I plan to respray the one he has... just wondering if it'll be an easy job/worth doing or not.

they are just stick on, no pins involved. i used a heat gun and a scalpole and then some thinners to take off the left over adhesive. if you decide to leave them off however you'll probably have to give a good t-cut to the car, maybe even use some G6 compound or something!

As above the badges will come off easily. Check Ebay as a possible source for replecements - they do come up quite often

I repainted my badges in the Summer. At the risk of being anal don't forget to measure the position of the badges then a nylon thread or floss will bring them off.

If you want them the same colour I found a humbrol shade that was very similar to the Fiat blue and spent some happy days repainting the badges. Don't repaint the chrome with silver paint though as that looks terrible. Then you will need to dig out all the old adhesive on the back and replace with double sided sticky tape that is not too thick.

Have been trying eBay for months with no luck think I will repaint the Tipo badge, so thanks for the tips on that

As for a spare front badge I have two, ones faded as they all do and the other has been repainted in winchester blue (the colour of my Tipo) by me in rather a bodge it fashion as I was practicing but you're welcome to either if you want, just drop a bit of postage money my way

Know exactly what you mean one of my Golfs is in despreate need of front shocks, so I go out and buy it new smoked crosshair headlights... :bang:
