hey guys
i was just woundering about debadging my mk1 punto because the badges are all faded and look really tacky are they just glued on or are they pined in. and what would be the best way to do it??

hi lennox,
the badges will be glued on, its like this tacky foam stuff, bloody horrible. i suggest using hot soapy water and an old plastic credit card or anything like that. then get the card behind, poor some of the water on it and get prying haha :) after taking them off my 1999 seicento, i used some t-cut to remove the crap left over from the glue, and to even out the colour incase of any fading.

All fiat badges are simply stuck on just paitence is needed other wise just create yourself more work

No theyre not, how do you know he is not on about the front badge?

The front badge in most cases is bolted on, so de-badging would leave a hole that would need to be filled

Also on the back of Mk1 Puntos some are either stuck on or they are pined in but I cant remenber which are stuck or which are pined so be careful (y)

I cannot help but wonder if there also might be an issue here with insurance?
A lot of modern cars are very similar in appearance, debadging may make the car harder to spot in some circumstances.
Also, I wonder if people are so unhappy with a marque they have to take off the badges - why buy that marque in the first place?

Thats a good point because you cant mess about with things like number plates altering them (as such ;)) so taking badges off might also be a grey area , but really its just a style thing dont think its people unhappy with there marque :)
