Losing count of how many people have flashed me for having my lights on, so I'm now thinking about turning off my daylights. If I turn them off, do i have to push the stalk forward as well as turning it for my night lights and if I do, is is more awkward to indicate?
How many of us just leave the daylights on?

Cheers All:confused:

Are you sure their flashing you because of the lights? The're not powerfull enough to be dazzling. Could be mistaken for fogs though I suppose.

I know what you mean, I collected mine on Friday afternoon and noticed the lights were on -it was a bright sunny day & I got flashed a couple of times, so I went to the manual and turned them off, shame this cant be done by a switch though, but I dont think the rear lights came on anyway, so cant see the point of them.

I've had mine on since collecting her at the end of march and had no one flash me until friday when a lorry driver flashed me!! was it the lights or just that he liked the car??? Have heard of someone getting stopped by the police because they said she had her foglights on! not sure if she got fined or not?? I dont have the foglights fitted so wouldnt be able to show them the difference! Not sure what to do now:confused::confused::confused:

Keep them on. I always keep my headlights on whenever I'm driving. Green cars and green scenery make for interesting driving. I don't quite see the point of sidelights tbh, you might as well hold a pissy little 1w torch out the window. But of course it doesn't hurt.

Keep them on!!

I do, I love them, I think they're really cool and the fact that the back lights don't come on is just the start of things to come!

Has anyone seen any of the new Audi's with their daylights on? Theirs are LED so they're even brighter than the 500 and their back lights don't come on either, so the 500 has the same technology/feature as the new Audi, so that keeps me smiling.

But don't switch the daylights off, Volvos are on all the time so why can't ours be? I think it's cool, I was made up when I found them! :slayer:

I've got LED DRL's fitted to my Panda! They're great!

A few years ago there was a study in Sweden which concluded that if all cars had DRL then accidents would be reduced. That is why Volvo cars have their lights on at all times. DRL are a safety feature and it will eventually become the law, it is nice to see a little Fiat car being an early adopter on this matter.

Keep your DRL on and ignore the ignorants. (y)

The only thing I don't like about the 500's DRL's is the fact they're not LED, so use a bit of power, but they still look great(y)

firtly if someone is 2 ignorant to realise what the lights on the front of your car is thats there problem not yours

secondly if they can be arsed to flash at you because of it they need a slap it's non of there buisness

also it's not illegal to drive around in the day with your dip beams on anyway nor is it to have your side lights on

i keep my side lights on all the time regardless of how sunny it is means if anyone rear ends me they have even less excuse for doing so

i think it would be nice if everyone with 500's kept them on and just ignored the ignorant and even thou it may be a hassle it would be fun to prove wrong a few law enforcers from time to time

Well said LittlePip, thankyou. You've got them, use them.

Maybe some wordy type on here could compose an eloquent disclaimer that we can all print off and keep in our 'gloveboxes' to produce in the event of being pulled.

Cannot believe the police, given all their powers, aren't clued up on such matters.
