Dashboard ecu? Light

i have a 2001 brava 1.2 Formula and the ecu?? (Yellow engine shape with fan on)light has come on permantly... it came on for a couple of days last month then went off.. but has now come on again and stays lit
it flickers then stays on when key turned, car running Great, no missfire etc, no mayo in oil filler or anything like that..

It could be a number of things, but with the engine not missing a beat it will be very difficult to determine what could be at fault causing the light to come up.

I suggest trying not to drive it much (so not to risk damaging anything further) and getting it in to be put on an ECU diagnostics machine. Lots of garages have them and it shouldn't be too expensive. Maybe £20-£25. It would be the only way to be sure of the cause for the warning light.
