My 2000 plate, mk2, 1.2 8v ELX punto has failed its emissions test. HC, Lambda and CO are all out!
I know the exhaust is blowing where the centre pipe fits to the backbox, so this will throw lambda readings out a bit but i dont think this is the fault.
It hunts at idle and it wont stay at a specific amount of revs when revved in neutral (e.g. rev it to 2k and it wont stay at that, it will start hunting again).
Also in neutral or when driving it wont hit the rev limiter, it just get to 6k and wont rev past that, it sounds more like when a diesel hits the govenor.
No mis-fire when driving, it actually drives quite nice, cant really say if its lacking power or not, seems to be as powerful as id expect (not very lol)
Engine managment light isnt on but i havnt had it code read so cant say if theres any codes stored or not
The headgasket has just being replaced and the head skimmed.
Any ideas anyone???
