Damn Alarm!

I have a standard factory fitted alarm (alarm, central locking and immobeliser) on a 1996 1.8 HLX Bravo.....
The problem is that the key remote does not work. It is now the second time that i am having to use the key itself to open the doors I have been to a Fiat garage and changed the battery in the key but still no luck. The garage gave me the name of an alarm specialist in te area but they found nothing wrong with the alarm system itself...

What is going on????

Have you checked the alarm box its self?
i had a 1.8 HLX (R reg 98) and my alarm packed up on that. The box is located in the interior light - so there guess was (as it s a common fault on fiats) that water had leaked through the sunroof and directly into the light / alarm / central locking kit.

The thing was that expensive to replace I got a toad alarm fitted instead!
