Got the car, now need a cycle rack for the back of it, (not the roof, it's tall enough already). Been looking around the internet and thule appear to make one that fits on the back OK, but also seen some people give Thule a hard time. Any of you good people here have experience with rear cycle racks on the 53 Ulysse and later?

The last cycle rack I had was one that fitted over the spare tyre on our Vitara

Do you have a towbar fitted?

No, not yet anyway. With the big rear bumper I should be able to find something that sits on that nicely, (I hope)!

Keep an eye on ebay. I bought my cycle rack for my 2000 Ulysse on there for £50 from a bloke who changed his Synergie for a C8.

I have the THULE 968 - the one with straps.

It is not strong enough for 3 bikes and I do not recommend it - very disappointing!

My previous carrier was a cheap no-brand made in china carrier and it handled 3 pairs easily (untill it broke down...)

Having read the thread, I realised I am in the same position as I doubt that the carrier I have will fit the Ulysse. A quick google search threw this one up

Not sure if it is any good but it does say it fits the Ulysse. I notice the selector on the Thule site offers several models for the Mk1 but none for the Mk2.

Think I'll take a trip to Halfords before I decide on anything.

I wouldn't bother. Already been there, the big one in Ruislip. Asked an assistant about whether it would fit my car or not, he said to open the box and read the manual as he was too busy! Seriously. I looked at them and to be honest I wouldn't recommend any that I saw.
