Custom spoilers

Hi all,

I'm thinking about getting a custom spoiler made for my car, but have heard it will need to pass certain safety checks before fitted - is this true?

Only reason bein is that the person making it is good at DIY but doesn't work for a company and I wanted it on my car legally!

Dont know about the spoiler but could this person make a replica Abarth super 2000 bodykit?

Well I don't wanna speak for him but I'm sure if he had a grande punto available (you do mean the punto right?) Then I'm sure he could take the measurements of the fittings etc and have a go - I don't know his ability but he said he's custom made a full original mini body kit n spoiler before..

Anyone else able to help with my query?

i cant see there being a problem as long as its strong, wont shatter into shards and is safely secured to the car.
