Hi

Im looking for some pictures or diagrams of some fitted Sub enclosure's for a brava/o?

Has anyone done anything like this to a brava/o or do peeps mainly use sub boxes, also with the f/d speakers are they 5x7's and do they link up to the tweeters on the dash, as I had one of the door speakers out and there is only 2 wires so Im wondering how the tweeters are wired....if all this makes sense????

Yeh Mate They Are 5x7's I Replaced Mine @ The Weekend Rear Ones 2! The Tweeters In The Front Dash Also Have Two Wires Going Into Em Mate I Wasnt Playin Wiv Them Lol! Need Small Hands! :|

Re: Re: Custom Brava i.c.e install's

Oh cool, what speakers did you replace them with out of interest??

Re: Re: Re: Custom Brava i.c.e install's

GB,
you can buy adapters for the speaker mounts at the same place you bought your stereo fascia from - autoaudioaccessories - so you can fit bigger speakers in - 13cm and 16cm i think?!!?

Yeah I saw them on there thats what sort of made me think about upgrading....,but I cant work out what is gonna perform better, a couple of new 5x7's and disconnect the tweets,or 13cm and new tweeters and crossover??

Does anyone know the watts of the fiat speaks that are in the now

my old install;

(btw i'm wanting to get rid of the shelf, box and 6x9's if anyone is interested)

And this is my new install which i have started, but progress is slow due to lack of time!

This is an incomplete image but the sub is obvious, the rectangular hole on the left is for teh changer, the brown pole accross the back is a hinge for the lower grey plate which will have the amps on it and life to provide access to the spare. There will be another grey board higher up with will lift to provide access to the amps and also provide a floor to put the shopping on. And this is what i have done so far:

Hope this gives you some ideas.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Custom Brava i.c.e install's

Nice Ideas Mate! Still Need Need A Box Built For My 12" Nice Shelf Tho! How Much Its Cost To Do That?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Custom Brava i.c.e install's

Do it!

I fitted 16.5cm comps in the front at the w/e. The amount of messing about depends a lot on the shape of the back of the speaker because of the large magnet needed for certain makes.
I fitted an Amp to go along with my new HU too. It took me quite a while because I was being super cautious but I am now sure it was well worth the effort.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Custom Brava i.c.e install's

i did a guide for nige's fiat bravo site, i think it's still there. Can't remember what it cost, less than £50 i would imagine as i was too tight to get another shelf from fiat and modify that.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Custom Brava i.c.e install's

btw i was going to throw the box in the top picture away and it is for a 12" sub. very large volume box though, so if you want it it's in sheffield waiting until i have a fire.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Custom Brava i.c.e install's

Thats great

Alan how much does the right ahnd side stick out into the boot, does it fit in around the wheelarch?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Custom Brava i.c.e install's

no it's basically a cube with a sloped front. it's about 400mm deep, 340mm high and 350mm wide.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Custom Brava i.c.e install's

Very Tempting Mate!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Custom Brava i.c.e install's

Have you got the measurments for you new install just the sub box side as I havn't got a cd-changer,

Does you "new" one fit around the arch, and do you attach it to the car, or is it free standing???

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Custom Brava i.c.e install's

it is entirely free standing. It does not mould around the car as i do not live in an area where it is wise to be seen putting ice in the back of you car, therefore i took a few measurements whilst putting the shopping in the car at asda and am making it out of sight in the back garden. i will post dimensions later.

dont know how well that will come out but that is the basic overall dims. If you want to mould it into the sides of the car then i would simply extend the sides to meet that car by cutting cardboard templates to fit the car. That way you can keep control of the volume of the box

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Custom Brava i.c.e install's

this is more what it will look like:

and how the hinge will work for teh two grey components:

hope this helps you come up with some ideas.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Custom Brava i.c.e install's

i have put it on yahoo, but it's not that reliable, so you may have to be patient with it. If you open it then save it you will be able to zoom in in microsoft photo editor or whatever. If you are going to make one you may need to alter the depth depending what volume your sub needs. This is also a sealed box which you may or may not want.
