Styling custom boot install?

I was wondering about doing my own boot install using mdf and rings and fiberglass, but i've never done it before. is it a good idea? and what all do i need? and does anyone know where theres a guide on how to do it?

Thanks

Shannon

could try the ice section on the forum, but unless you're thinking of putting a bigger engine in it might be more hassle than it's worth.

I actually built a smaller (and as a result worse sounding) enclosure for my sub - purely because the original was too damn heavy, and hence having an impact on the performance of the car....

hey here is the start of mine . cheers

do thin fake floor with a bit of 1x2screwed/tacked to the underneath of it, carpet then cut to fit round sub box and do whatever with amp, no point in going full custom route cinq or sei wont move lol

fiberglass installs are awesome in my opinion. however you need to be very good at the woodwork as nearly every edge has to be routerd. the next part is the fiberglassing. there is a correct way of doing this so it is all smooth as glass and all curvy and painted.

They do move, check out alaina's and donna's old cinq, both have installs in the back

meh thats not my sort of cake, and get rid of the brakelight you already got some:p

lol diferent pepole like diferent things, that light is long gone. duno what possesed me to do that like. does anyone like my install. everythin has been negative so far

Its a nice neat install mate, not sure how much air space there is for the sub, but if your happy with the sound thats all that matters.

My installs just the standards up front with some £1 ebay tweeters and a £5 ebay fiberglass floor build, just 18mm MDF and some fiberglass in the spare wheel hole, its one of the best sounding installs i've heard in a while, not the loudest but still one of the best.
