Posting up as I'm looking for suggestions on what could be causing it - my fear is a wheel bearing is on the way out - 07 T-Jet Sport with £25k miles on the clock - not a lot of miles but still...time is still there.

When I corner 'hard' - normally going fast and you can feel the car biting in whilst cornering - turning out of drives or into them or a tight junction - don't seem to get it on the open road or roundabouts...anyway there is a proper creaking/cracking kind of noise from the driver front wheel.

My plastic liner is cracked and I'm hoping for some reason that is being moved but I can't think why it would be...nothing appears to be loose but I'm clueless about it all (I don't really know how it all works, just how it is meant to be driven and how I drive it!).

I don't drive it hard often, but when I'm on my own I like giving it some welly...on roads I know so I'm not completely fluffing up lines and stuff.

Just wondering what else it could be (and hoping it's a dead easy fix and not going to cost me the price of my daughter's kidney!).

Cheers.

could be a cv joint, but more likely to be a broken spring or dry damper

if it was a wheel bearing it'd be rumbling more or less all the time, then it'd be shaking when it was absolutley goosed.

i would say it sounds like the very early signs of a CV joint going aswell tbh, either that or a driveshaft or a balljoint.

That would be the first suspicions in my head anyway without hearing it myself.

Going back in next Monday...hopefully it'll be warrantied. Out of interest, what is a CV joint/spring or dampeer? I think the last 2 are to do with the suspension. How expensive are these parts if they need replaceed and not warranted?

Thanks.

a cv joint is the part which connects your supesnion/brake disc/wheels together and drives the wheels as they turn at angles dont know how much the new bravo is for a cv joint but the rough price for a cv joint is probably around 30-50 ish for each one

Ofcourse, it could be under warranty.......
As the Bravo is a Stilo in drag it could be worth suggesting a couple of things that Stilo was noted for.
OK, so the wing liner is cracked, but the noise could very well be drop link related (notorious weak point on Stilo) could be the suspension arm (bushes are weak) but could equally be the top mount, some are prone to going 'dry' and making a racket under load.
Finally - and as previously suggested - it could be the CV joint or driveshaft. But these very infrequently give hassles on the Stilo so I can't see any reason why they would be any worse on the Bravo.
Be intersteing to see what the garage say.

Sounds more like it is the bearing in the strut top mount...can get stiff and is the usually culprit when creaking noises start occurring....or the spring is not sitting correctlly in the mounts.
