Panda 2012+ Cross 0.9 TwinAir

My 2020 Panda!
I’m never worried about the speed limit on motorways, I already know when I’m at 70! 😉
I always do 70 when getting onto a motorway. And again getting off!
Being nearly 70 and not often needing to get places fast I am now much better, but the Panda is quite happy showing 3 figures on the clock. The speedo is hopelessly optimistic though 80 is actually only 73 and 100 is about 88/9. These whacky cars are no noisier at full speed than at 60. And that officer is the case for the defence. We went to Northumberland which was over 400 miles. No aches or pains from anyone. I reckon its as good as anything else Ive ever driven at long drives,

When I first got mine I thought it would be uncomfortable but I have done all ranges of lengths in this car and have been more uncomfortable in 1.6 family estates than in mine!
I never knew about the speedometer calibration 🤣 you would think I was redlining it sometimes!

Just remember the engine is VERY high tech and needs looking after. Its only a tiny thing and while it performs like a mad thing such a small engine wont take too much hammering. Thats just physics. Only use the exact oil spec would be my advice and change the oil more often than specified. Its subjected to turbo cooking at up to 800C and uniair use at upto 1500psi pressure. This makes it something I feel needs really regualr changes. 5000 miles I feel is enough going on what it looks like after that use.

Good to know, thank you. I put in 5W-40 instead of 0W-30 after Halfords checker told me it would be fine. Got a service on the third so they’ll replace it then but I’m going to start doing it myself next year. Just need to solve the undercarriage access issue

I wouldnt trust them to sit correctly on a toilet. Have a read on here re the TA oil. Lots to get to grips with. My logic is its unlikely any other engine this side of F1 car is given such a hard time and I would never refill with anything other than the stared grade of selenia. oil . I would get that 5/40 out sooner rather than later. Have a look in the downloads tab for the expalanation of the TA unit and I suspect you will see where I am coming from. Oil viscocity affects both the valve opening and valve timing. The wrong grade of oil could cause problems. SOme say other wise but people seem to have trouble and its my view these are probably all down to the wrong oil having been used at some time. I may be wrong but logic suggests its a substantial issue.

I’ll give it a read, thank you. Will ask for a full change at the service and then do regularly myself, this is good to know!!
