Hi all

My first ever forum !

I've owned a Mk1 Croma Turbo for the last 10 years (on and off), 6 years ago it came back to me from my sister, I couldn't scrap it so I chopped the roof off and had great plans to make a pick up out of it.

Last month after 6 years of collecting dust in the garage I set about making it happen, its fully wealded and just some filler work to do before its sprayed.

I want to increase its power from 155 to about 200-220 BHP.

Any idea's ?

:eek:sounds crazy but i wish you all the best!! dunno how to get that power out of it, certainly not cheaply. i would say turbos, intercoolers, induction kits remaps all required. port polish and possibly big bore your cylinders(y)

gonna cost you thousands mate(n)

A pick up????? That's not very imaginative, you should have made it into one of these. You'd only need it to go at 4mph.

There's no easy way to get more power from the 8v Twin cam engine unless you want to give Guy Croft lots of money to race tune it. I don't think he's too interested in the 8v turbo engine though, I offered him one for free a while ago, he didn't want it.

Yeah probably :(

If I can get a good answer on if the Integrale HF 8v turbo and ecu fit straight on I can get it to 185 bhp, then chip from there with a lancia chip to 200 BHP.

nothing is ever that easy !

Don't forget about the oil cooling jets below the piston crowns on the turbo engine. If you take it to that bhp, they may not be able to cope.

I've got a Goetze complete engine gasket set for it here if ever you're interested for about £60.

Dave.

Thanks for that Davren i'll keep it in mind,

I'm going to give an expert a call and see if the internals are the same as the integrale and see from there.

I did drive it on Saturday in a straight line on the land next to my house, with all the weight removed it seemed quick as it is, when finished I'm going to a weight bridge and work out the new power ratio,

theres a Lambo door hindge kit on e-bay for the croma turbo, american shop, univeral hinges I think, but the croma is listed, maybe next year !!
