Hi,

I am looking at a Croma. It is a 1.8 16V.

The coolant tank has a lot of whitish crystal type residue on the outside of the tank. It looks dry.

Inside the tank is clean looking, as is the oil filler cap.

Is some overflow like this normal or does it mean the HG is going?

Car drives fine and temp needle is fine, with plenty of heat from the blower.

Thanks.

Mine is a 1.9 16v and has the same residue since I bought it 15k miles ago and I had no problems with it. The coolant inside is clear and good (-35 tested), but outside white-pink residue from the coolant. Maybe someone spilled it on the tank when he was trying to fill it :)
