when driving i'm getting lots of annoying creaking and cracking sounds from both doors when both windows are fully closed,if the windows are slightly open it doesen't do it? it's not the doors that are loose as i checked them,it sounds like it's coming from the rubber seal around the door, but i can't see anything wrong with it! i've lubricated them and cleaned them but it's still bloody doing it and annoying too! anyone have this?

Yes My 1.4SX has the same problem, thinl i'll change the seals when Fiat decide to stock the parts!!!!!!!!!!!!

Creaking seals

How often do you lubricate the seals?

It should be done regularly with Vaseline (do not use silicon as this will cause them to leak).

1st time

only had the car about 9 months and it's the 1st time i lubricated them but it hasn't solved the annoying creaking.

Re: 1st time

I never lubricate seals - I promised the Judge I wouldn't do it again!

SOLVED!

theres a straight seal between the doors and the rear quarter panel window, put some furniture polish and the car is now almost 100% silence Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Re: SOLVED!

Does anybody understand how it works because I don't!!!

I am not doubting it as I have done it on my car and it works well although you have to done it fairly regularly!!

Door seals creaking

Looking at old posts and found this beauty.

Exactly what i'm getting from both doors.

The seals seem to be creaking and i don't get what they're trying to advise in order to stop this from happening.

I believe they're advising to vaseline the seals. However this will smear it on the window will it not?

Re: Door seals creaking

no just put vaseline on the seals around the door. its not the windows that creak just those damn seals. read somewhere that mr sheen wood and furniture polish works a treat?

Re: Re: Door seals creaking

To be honest i have the same problem Ady

Went to Fiat to get a idea what it was and they said it was a common problem of Bravos and that the whole rubber piping needed changing. This cost £90 and another £40 to be fitted......i though WHAT but they did say this is a problem where it keeps on crackling and things like Vasaline wont solve it....since i've just put up with it!!

an even longer lasting soloution :)

instead of just putting vasoline on the rubber seal, put a thin layer on the bodywork where the seal meats the roof inside.can't be seen and it's still not creaking 3 weeks later ;)
