I've stupidly left my coursework to the last day again, and need a bit of help. I've got to do a report on script writers, most of it I have already in note form, just need to put it in my own words etc. However, one of the points I have to make is 'The difference between actor scripts and camera scipts, you'll be asked to give examples of how these two scripts differ'.

I cant seem to find anywhere that has a image of either, the closest I've found for the camera script, but its not very clear.

Does anyone know of anywhere to get some examples?

yes you do need help, but not with this assigment. you need to learn the very important life skills of motivation, organisation and planning. without them you are doomed; doomed i tells thee!

instead of searching google images for "camera script" (yes i can tell) you need to check out the results in good old regular google.

for example, the 2nd hit in google is one big camera script.

and so is the 4th hit

camera scripts tend to say what angle to shoot from - what kind of shot - wide/closup/etc. whether it sweeps from one position to another - one thing to point out though, the script is not neccesarily for the camera man but for the vision mixer or director of photographry. also depends on whether it is film use or say a tv new bulletin. live tv tends to be more off the cuff. camera scripts may well have little pictures of start shot and end shot - this will also help the lighting crews know where to light from and what the cameras need to see!

luckily for you i like this subject therfor want to help:p.

actor script will be what you see the people/props doing on screen for example dialog movement etc.

camera script will be the movement/camera angles used. use the phrases low angle high angle medium shot.

things like that will get you marks.

also use the phrase 'Mise en scene' somewhere in there. this is a french word used to describe what is going on in a particular scene and why things have been layed out in a certain way.

also go into detail describing how different a camera script is from an actors script.

ill do you a plan...

introduction

description of actors script

description on camera script

compare the two

say how the two help the narrative of films/tv programmes

summarise

OMG this thread has made me realise how much i want to be doing something else in life. (film)

Now im thinking i may have made the wrong career choice(n)
the money is not as glamarous as the actors that are in the films- for us techies it is a struggle from day to day!! but you do it cos you love it! start work at 4am finish at 9pm and do it all again the next day! sometimes for 6 weeks solid!

not the moeny i care about tbh.

what do you do? if you dont mind me asking?
Was lighting tech for tv but moved the stage/concerts etc - even at royal opera house but now have resorted to a full time job witch pays the bills as a techie at the Uni of Herts - still do some shows but mainly filming lectures etc. still do the odd concert freelance to help out old mates and stuff - its a bit of an easy/lazy life at the uni - so I think I would find it hard to get back into the real life of hard work 'on the set'!

Thanks, although the first one, that doesn't look the same as to what I had when I was in class, we had one similar to the one in my first post, with the lines etc. Just looking though my pc to see if I can find the one we had to do in class, but dont think I saved a copy here.

The second link seems to take me to ebay?

there will be approximately 1470 different formats for a camera script. they wont all look the same. if it says CAMERA SCRIPT or CAMERA OPERATOR SCRIPT at the top that is a good clue that you are indeed looking at the right thing.

my first link is a camera and production script.

my second link is a camera script.

The second link seems to take me to ebay?
WTF its doing that for me too, yet it was working fine before.

copy and paste the link below, then it works.
