Having a problem folding the middle seat with the built in seat belt.
It will recline ok when I lift the latch but unlike the outer ones it will not fold over or go into wallet position. Any one else had this trouble?
Also I have noticed that after i arrive home from work at night my ulysee emits a high pitch whine from under the bonnet. it is not loud but is noticaable when you walk passed the car. it seems to stop after a few minutes but I have never noticed it during the day when I arrive at work - any thoughts ?

Hi,

Had the same trouble with our's. From memory (wife is out in car), you need to fold down the back using the handle on the back of the seat and the use the side handle to fold into wallet position. If this doesn't work, then it is just the side handle.

Anyway it was a bit of a pain to do easily.

As to the high pitch whine, not sure what that is. Do you have Xenon lights on it as it could be the ballast.

hi,

i have problems with the same seat. it does appear to be rather difficult to flip into the wallet position, let alone removing it. my problem came after removing and reinstalling it a couple of times.

as for the sound from the engine, i can only identify a whirring sound (like that of a turbine winding down...an airplane engine, albeit a very small one!) on switching off the engine. I quite like the effect actually, though i do hope its really nothing seriously wrong?!!...nothing else audible beyond that, though.

cheers

Are you certain the 'whining' sound is from the engine, and not from under the car (behind the engine). I noticed this on mine, and it turns out it's to do with the extra heater on the Diesel models - if the heater has kicked in to bring up the cabin temperature (if the car has not been driven for long enough for the engine to heat up), when you stop the car, there are fans that continue to run to cool the heater down!

When I first noticed this, the noise was also accompanied by a lovely burning smell (I guess the pre-delivery gunk on the underside of the car was burning off) - it settled down after 2-3 trips. It gave the wife a scare though the first time she borrowed it and it happened to her (with burning smell), as she thought it was going to explode! I told her if I was going to booby-trap the car, I'd be a little more subtle! :)

Certainly the journey to work and back is short - about 5 mls- and it tends as I stated to happen more at night when it is colder. Thanks for you input.

Now to tackle this middle chair !!!!

Yeah, I had the same problem with the middle seat in homebase carpark carrying a Christmas tree. Had to stand in the rain reading the manual to figure it out.
But it's that handle on the back of the seat alright.
