anyone ever put a fiat coupe engine in a punto??????

love my punto but is slow!!!!!

i really like my punto though, just need it to be faster, it looks the part but it dont keep up with anything!!!!!

What about the 1.4 GT engine? Or a Mk2 HGT engine? Surely it will be quick enough then?

A member off psc put a coupe 16v engine in so anything is possible

To be fair, a 1.4 turbo in a 5door is gonna surprise a few people.

Anyway, doesn't the 1.4Turbo spin the wheels maddly as it is? You'd probably have problems laying down 200bhp plus in a light front drive car.

5 dors it 2 to many mate, i drove a friends nover with a 2.0 turbo in and that didnt wheel spin to much??????

the end of the day its up to you what you want to do, we are just offering advice. personally i dont think its worth doing for a punto but thats my opinion but the cost of getting the engine and the conversion would be silly money and if you wanted a fast cat why buy the the 1.2? The easiest solutiion would be to buy a punto with a bigger engine

I'm sure you could get an early HGT for £3-4k so it'd probably be the most sensible option.
I'm sure your existing bodykit would bolt straight on too.

The easiest solution isn't always the best though.

If you're really into your modding and have the technical knowhow to do it yourself NICKO_12345 then go for it...I can't wait to see the results! I have a feeling someone on puntomk2.co.uk/puntoforum.com has done it, but I'm not too sure who.

Personally, I'd just buy a new car!
Start off with a quick motor in the first place, instead of having to spend all the money and effort on modding a slow one!
