I Havnt been on in here in a while so would just like to say hello and i hope your all keeping well!
Im thinking about getting the bravo back on the road and having the coop 20VT conversion done to her as theres a few things that need replacing anyway so im thinking that instead of possibly buying a coop and leaving the bravo to rot i could do the conversion instead!
What im basically asking is there anyone on here like Paul R that could take on the conversion for me if there is just email me via my login :) cheers

give me your car 4grand and a coupe and it will come back as a 20vt.

I know of a garage that will undertake the engine conversion for £1200.00 labour for everything including the loom and brake conversion. Price of engine and brakes added to that of course.

reply if your interested and I'll let you have the details of the place. Its in Bradford near me.

all right furry dont use msn mate. grab my numb of slysi and drop me a text, or post on here if you want.

In addition to the above, i thought the price that they were offering was a little cheap, but believe me its 100% genuine.

but what does the price include?

removal of engine all old shagged parts and placement in the bravo.

or proper fitting of engine with new clutch, cambelt, tensioners, waterpump, transfer of coupe abs if the bravo doesnt have it, new engine mounts, new radiator (coupe ones are normally shagged), new oil cooler and pipes(noutorious for going on coupes and causing engine failure!) custom exhaust as the back half of the coupe one wont fit the bravo!! new antiroll bar bushing and drop links, wishbones new brake discs and pads for the brembos.............

the list goes on and on and on. those parts alone are heading for a grand without the labour on top.

the question is do you go the cheep route and keep getting phone calls week after week month after month for more money or do you bite the bullet and pay out proper money and have it back in under 2 weeks lol.

have a chat with paul r i doubt he would do it for any less.

understand what is being said, but with a proffessional garage there are warranties etc, and a backyard job should cost backyard money!!

thanks for the list of things. All I can say is the garage will provide written quote for all labour, and parts can either be supplied by you or obtained by them and receipts for purchase provided.

so far i know of one bravo thats been in for the engin conv and have not heard of any glitches at all, in fact the guy recommended the place to me when i was talking about modding my bravo.

Under their belt they have several (dont laugh) fast car showcars, one including a fiesta cosworth conv along with 2 corsa gsi/calibra redtop conversions and one astra/calibra redtop supercharger conversion. thats just the ones I know of

at the end of the day if they'll put the lot in writing in a written quote your legally covered 'should anything go wrong'

find a garage that will offer a warranty on a turbo conversion. ha-ha don't make me laugh and for £1200.

and before you make slanderous comments like that. ask anyone that has ever had work done by me and im sure they will confirm that I am anything other than a back street dodgy operation. i don't need to post on boo but i do in the aim to pass knowledge on to the community.

this will be my last post on this thread. i don't need debate with anon fools who are not even brave enough to put a name to their voice. your silly remarks and pointless comments would be better aimed towards getting yourself another ASBO to show off to your chav scum mates!

the friendly feel of boo has been terribly plagued in the last two or three years by stupid fools that never attend meets never contribute to the club and are just a waste of web space and time to the genuine paying/contributing members that and make boo what it is(was!)

Any 'warranty' will apply only to labour, and will not cover used parts. Particularly when the used parts are customer supplied! what garage will warranty that!

I reckon that when you go to this 'professional' garage, they'll later tell you to bin the used brakes pads, and the disks, and that the hubs are knacked, and that the oil-cooler is leaking, and that the rad is rottten, and so on and so forth.

Remember, comparing Ash's 4k with the garages 1k isn't comparing apples with apples. Ash quoted you to supply and fit many many new parts, so that your motor would be reliable. The garage has quoted £1200 labour only, and thats based on the assumption that all the required parts will be in good useable nick. And from any coops i've seen, it wont be. The kind of coops that already have new rads, coolers, hubs etc, are the kind folk look after and cherish, and not the kind that are available for parts!

@ Kev, wasn't directed at you there, obviously. And, if i were you, and could afford a 'good' 4k coop rather than a 1k donor coop, i think i'd just keep the coop and sell the brav

As Ash and Buzz have said, you wont get any warranty on the engine swap, only the grease mokey work... and they will still try and wiggle out of any responsibilty should anything go wrong!

you want the job done properly you pay the price palin and simple, especially a job like this where the swap physically isnt too hard, but getting it all right and working right, along with combinig two wireing looms, decoding ecu's, providing the right new bits etc etc etc is alot harder than most would think... hence people pay to have these jobs done!

if i were to be doing it and had to pay, Ash would be my first port of call. i know the way he works, and i know he will only use decent parts, not cheap crap to keep profit margins high... afterall, your going to want a car that not only runs spot on, but also stops, has no electrical glitches, handles the power properly and so on... 1.6 suspension and 2.0 tubby go, no thanks...

the 1220 is labour alone, and to get a donor car your looking at a grand roughly, plus a grand at least in new parts etc... see where the money goes ?

If your serious and want a coupe conversion come and see me. ;)

That depends on what you want done. If you just want a coupe engine put in and you supply the parts I need then I guess labour is about £1500 including cambelt change, custom induction pipework and custom wiring loom etc.
If you want the engine re-bulit for some serious power then thats a whole different ball game.
Just look at what you could have if you stick with me;
