something that was bugging about the lovely new panda sport i saw at the ace last week, it would appear that the only colour you will see inside the engine bay and other panel work not readily seen on the car will not be painted the full colour of the car....in fact it would appear that its not even as neat as that with a fair bit of overspray making it through

is this normal with other manufacturers? or are fiat "taking the lead"?
 
As far as I recall, 10 or 15 years ago Ford were only putting the final clear coat on the outer surfaces so that if you opened the boot or bonnet the paint in there was a matt finish.
 
some mk4 ford fiestas did have a lack of colour coat in the engine bay, it was matt black instead. never seen white, maybe that was a respay or repair?

i hope the days of paint saving measures dont come back, i still feel sorry for cars with no paint on their bumpers. (like many new vw's still are :rolleyes:)
