Yup, I've had to smash some in the past (no criminal activity involved ) and it takes quite a lot of force, the coppers didn't look like they got any good swings at them.

but yeah, its a shame the batons weren't heavy enough to break the window! The telescopic batons the police use now would knock a bloke out if it hit you on the head, but that celica had pretty tough windows i guess! lol

If they were using ASP batons it would have to be bulletproof glass to stand up to that amount if stick.

And BTW, the police are not allowed to strike to the head with an ASP/Monadnock type baton. They are lethal.
