General Cool/Warm Air Fan Making Noise

Hi all

Turned the fan on in my car today and its making an awful noise, still blowing out air though. Any ideas what is wrong and what needs to be done to fix it? I'm in NO way mechanical so I'll need to take it to a garage but just wanted an idea of what it might be.

Hope it's better news than my car door which has just cost £80 to fix (wouldn't open from the inside), it seems to be one thing after another .

is it a ticking sort of noise? probably a leaf stuck in the fan, common problem apparently. did it to mine so I put the fan on full and kept changing the airdirection (feet, face, screen) and then there was a small shooting noise and the leaf came blowing into the dash. has been fine since

Thanks for the reply. Nope it's not a ticking sound, more like a whiring, like you can suddently hear the motor starting up and then shutting down when you turn if off????
