Hi
I'm having difficulty locating controls for the media player when playing mp3s off a usb stick. The player just has 'media player' on the display but none of the forward/backward or up/down keys work.
Then I realised the three small keys on the speed dom can control browsing functions. But this is very inpractical whilst on the move. :bang:

Is there anyway I can transfer the functions back to the cd/radio player to make it easier?

cheers

Hi there,

The media player is controlled through blue&me, not the stereo, as you can only use a USB if you have Blue&Me. You use the buttons on the steering wheel - the up and down ones on the right hand side skip backward and forwards, and you can access the different folders too - and you can use voice commands as well. Read your Blue&Me instructions and all will become clear - it may seem like a chore, but it won't take that long and it will be worth it. It's a great system if take the time to get to get grips with it. Enjoy!

Manual? oh must be that booklet im using as a tea mat  just kidding, i did skim through it once but most of the contents do refer to Blue&me with mobile phone functions which I dont really have intention of using. I'll go through it again more specifically...

cheers

I have been using my USB full of music and happily using the steering wheel controls as mentioned above. However, yesterday they suddenly stopped working!?! I can just about play the music from my media player but can't skip a song or anything anymore? Can anyone shed any light on what the problem might be or whether I have knocked a button or something? I can't even access the menu button from the steering wheel anymore?

Hi everyone, I had exactly the same problem as lowrylady and used zanes link which states remove the negative on the battery for 5 minutes to reset the blue and me. This worked perfectly, thanks zanes, all back to normal. Just have to reset clock and date. Wonderful !!!!:worship:

Well, love the car and USB setup as I do, what did Fiat expect asking MicroSoft to provide the B&M software *sigh*. They've been making Operating System software for over 20 years and haven't got that right once.

And just like it's OS siblings "have you tried switching it off and back on again?" only this time it's disconnect the battery instead of ctrl+alt+del.

Been an IT support guy for 15 years, sick of telling MS what they need to fix. They always blame 3rd party software for system hangs, this is basically exclusively MS software (though they prob nicked it from someone else) and it STILL hangs from time to time.....lol

I still love having the USB and BT built into the car though :D

Rofl.

From the above I can tell that you're not an IT person.

Windows 7, one of the best OS's made and pretty good from the get go.
Mac - Just doesn't do all the things that a PC can do, is expensive and nowhere near as capable on the server side.
Linux - End users have even less idea of how to use one than they do a PC.

And now to strike terror in your heart, my job is supporting thousands of users across England and Wales using Lotus Notes !!!!

You're ****ting me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a project officer so I generally don't do much day to day support but one of the things I support is.... you guessed it..... Lotus Notes.

Before someone tells us that this is off topic, the Fiat 500 is a retro car and Lotus Notes is a retro software that looks and feels like it was designed back in the early to mid 90's.

Glad it helped :) Nice to see a newbie using the search and thanking people for things that are useful.

Jesus, Lotus Notes? I thought that had died a decade ago (shudder). What sort of 1980's company do you work for? As a former Project/Programme manager I used to seek out anyone still using Notes and ban it.

I work for a local government authority. A couple of people of our people went to a conference or show or something and the Microsoft people asked what version of exchange they were running and laughed when they were told we were still running notes :ROFLMAO: I still think we have people still using Smartsuite.......
