Continuous Battery Drain

Hoping someone can help.

I know my alternator works, however my battery constantly drains. I will charge it for an hour whilst idling, but within 2 days its dead flat again. This has happened 6 times, and I have checked all obvious power draining sources and am convinced it is something else.

Any thoughts? Is it electrical?
Is it best to take to a fiat dealer or a person who specializes in Diagnostic checks?
Any thoughts as to how hard it is to locate and fix this sort of situation.

Any help is much appreciated.

You sure your battery is not shagged? If they are damaged they won't hold a charge.

Re: Re: Continuous Battery Drain

hey i dont know if this helps or have any point at all but i had have no problem with my hlx apart from battery totally drained even though i baught a brand new one of hellfords. This happened last year summer when i first bought the car and install my ice. I took it to a garage and they checked everything but they seems to find everything working including the alternator. So they adviced me to go to a car electricians specialist and still found nothing wrong!!! (that was long) Anyways i decided to rearange my cables and i found that the ground cable for my amp is not properly connected to the car. Anyways i did everything and since then i had have no trouble at all. sorry if this doesnt help but i tought i should just mention it. WEIRD HUH!!!

Hi,

I don't know if this helps either, but I had a similar problem with mine.

First some of the dash lights stayed on and then one cold day my battery was flat. I charged it twice after this and then it finally died.

Just had a new one replaced, I think mine was drained so quick because the garage forgot to turn the heated seats off, while they were fixing something.
