Hi All,

I’m a freshly, first time, owner of an Fiat Croma 2007. A nice underrated car with some cosmetic and technical problems. The most I’ve already solved with the big help of YouTube, this forum and Google.

As an upgrade I bought an second hand Connect Nav+ unit from a scrapper, ofcourse without the Mastercode.
After many pages on this forum I found several options to solve this problem. The easiest and cheapest is update the Connect Nav+ to firmware 11 so you don’t need the code (correct me if I’m wrong)
On the forum are many treads to read but they go mostly over de Connect Nav+ in an Stilo.

Is the connect Nav+ (NG1?) in a Fiat Croma 2005 the same unit as, for example, the unit in a Stilo? But then with an different frontcover?

My question, is the software that I can download on the forum usable for my Connect Nav+ or is there a high risk of bricking my second hand unit.

Kind regards,

Mark

Firmware version 11 does not avoid the need for the master code.

I don't know when it changed from NIT G1 to NIT G2, but you would need firmware and software for the correct one.
.
Thanx for clearing then :)

So… the only solution is to contact the dealership so they can retrieve the code.
What are the benefits for updating the firmware to 11? New features, bug fixes or looks? And is it worth the risk :)

Connect Nav master codes are a 4 digit number from 0000 to 9999. There appears to be no limit on how many wrong codes are tried, so you could try 0000, then 0001, then 0002 etc. until you get the correct code.

I haven't done a firmware update for many years, but I think v11 gave more accurate distances to a spoken turn instruction.

Ow….. just 10.000 combinations possible 😂
Worth a try to save €100,- if there is no limit on wrong combinations..

So far no limitations.. except the time between the attempts goes up per minute.. so after 5 attempts you have to wait 6 minutes before you can try again🙈
