Connect NAV for Stilo

hi,
(fiat stilo multiwagon)
bought myself a connect nav as my stilo didnt have one when bought in march this year.

after much faffing about with cn+ software and the like the unit automatically managed to conect to car management system allowing me to change "THE CLOCK". whoope.

the unit itself is a pile of pants os i put my old dab radio back in after i'd done what i wanted to do.

6months later and come the change of clocks i've connected my connectnav unit back in to change the time however it wont connect to the car management system to do this.

have i forgotten to hold down a button or do something when switching on the unit???!!?.

Why cant you just change the clock using the mode button on the right side of the steering wheel?

without the connect nav unit the car orignally came with the mode button only allows me to change the speed limiter.

nothing happens when you hold down the button for 2 secs or more.

all the options os far as i am aware are only configurable using the connect nav system

which currently doesnt connect to the car manangement system but used to.

just forgot how i got it working last time out.
