Okey dokeys! I bought the new stuff at thye weekend and wired it all up and am very impressed with the sound. HOwever, I know need to get the components mounted (they were on my lap when I was testing).

What is the best way to get the wire into the doors. Tom has stated that this can be a bit of a ball ache but how did you do it? Tafi stated that he cut the wire on either side that goes to the existing speaker and used that but wouldnt the thinner wire lessen the quality?

Please help as I want them wired up before friday (Yip, I'll be doing it in the dark and rain)

Si just had a loop of wire inside the car.

The other option is to drill some holes in the door. Use gromets obviously :)

Re: Re: Components in doors

i just drilled through my door :) i used a 3mm drill i used a small strip of masking tape to stop the drill slipping and drilled the hole then once the wire was through i used some silicon sealer to cover around the hole to prevent water/rust etc

to get the wire into the car i used used the wireing plug that is there, you will notice that the the plug going into the door can be un screwed, unscrew it so it is hanging, then pull at the rubber seal around its base, it just pops off, slide the wire through the hole then put the rubber seal back on this traps the wire for you.

i have some pics somewhere of what i did, i will post when i get home.
