Hi All,

For starters my name is Matt, I'm completely new to Forums so really don't have a clue what I'm doing. I'm also relatively new to cars in general, but am a bit of a computer geek, so I'm not totally incompetent when it comes to the logic of a functioning 'thing'.

I got my Fiat Grande Punto Dynamic 1.4 3 door last year. I love it to pieces but to be honest I'm one of those people that just has to fiddle and modify anything I get. I've fitted bluetooth audio to my car and a holder for my iPhone but I WANT MORE!!!

A couple of simple things to start off with (any suggestions would be great!). Firstly I want to change the gear gaiter collar (any nice ones anyone can suggest?) and I would love some footwell lighting too, but have no idea what I'm looking for and how to install it??

Finally is there anything similar to the Haynes car manuals for this model?

A lot to ask in my first post but this place seems friendly!!

First welcome to the forum :)
To fit footwell lighting all I did was run a wire from the interior light both sides and joined up the LEDs so when I unlocked/locked they'd dim in and out plus they was switched so I could switch em on and of :) I'd suggest maybe tint your windows badge less grill lower the car whatever suits you dude :) and I'm not aware of any Haynes manuals for the grande as yet but someone on here might be able to confirm if I'm right or wrong :p

Hello mate and welcome to the forum :)

In terms of gear gaiters what colour were you after? Try some of these:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw=grande+puntoleather+gear+gaiters&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313&_nkw=grande+punto+leather+gear+gaiters&_sacat=0

In terms of footwell lighting:

I would suggest you post us some GP eye candy mate so we can see how your car looks (y)

You certainly have come to the right place for help fiat forum is a great place.

Regards
Stephen

P.S. you don't need a Haynes manual you need Andy Monty (LOL)

It'd be best to declare them dude just incase you have a bump there not factory fitted items so if you didn't declare it practically invalidates your insurance if you were to have an accident or someone break in to your car depending on age ncb ect it shouldn't be much but if your a newbie driver they might rocket it up

Yep I'll defo declare, I have a years no claim so fingers crossed it won't affect it too much. Hopefully I can get some pictures up soon too! Thanks all for your help!
Hi,
If you need any help with insurance then please feel to drop me a line.
Regards,
Dan.

For gaitors I'd like to recommend Top Gaitors on ebay, you can choose what colour stitching you'd like and they're real nice quality.

As for other suggestions, for cheap/non-declarable ones, I'd recommend painting the grilles or doing a bit of vinyling. Check out my car from my sig, or have a look at others on the forums, there's some real nice examples here to get inspiration (check out SJB1985 's motor above for the ultimate in 5dr customisation :D).

For the footwell lighting, have a look at the guides on here. Someone did one with step by step instructions and photos along the way

surely Best, Cheap and Fast can't all go together!
You can usually have a maximum of two of those three options and that's not always certain either!

Haha sorry for going slightly off topic! You've got Shop4Parts and Eurocarparts are the ones that spring to mind immediately

Will be interesting to see what you do to your Punto as I've got a 5dr as well. Not done much to it yet... Prob about time I start my own member's motors thread

I've actually been looking at your thread! You've done some really nice mods to it (y)

Your wind deflectors look real nice and it's now made me consider getting one myself ;)

Which ones are they (Heko?) and do they actually deflect and reduce wind noise?
