Hi everyone i have jtd110 2001 diesel, having trouble starting in morning sometimes doesnt start at all, i have put new glow plugs in and checked leads with tester all working. once it has started it is fine even if the engine doesnt warm up, i dont get any warning lights and i took to fiat garage and they they use fault diagnistic and couldnt find anything wrong only thing he said was maf sensor a little out of tolerance and said this wouldnt be the problem. with this sort of advice, none at all, i am not sure i want to put into garage as they dont seem to have any idea themselves and could cost arm and leg for no result or they just change every sensor in the car which i can do. so hopefully someone can suggest what the problem is, battery fine and starter motor is fine, turning fast. thanks

Changing glow plugs is one thing but if they aren't getting sufficient current then they won't glow to their full extent. I haven't looked on my Multipla yet but certainly know I had this exact same problem on my Chrysler Voyager and it was the glow plug relay. This is the device that takes the power from the battery and delivers it to the plugs. Some cars have a glow plug controller which is an electronic device that does the same job. Also the quality of the cable to the glow plug and indeed the caps them selves should be checked for tight fittment and also for any evidence of black spot corrosion.
