Hello,

The HGT has remote central locking. Ive got one key that is coded to it so when i press the button it turns off the alarm and unlocks the doors.

Now, my problem is that ive got a spare key which is uncut and uncoded. I can get it cut and coded to the imobiliser at Timpsons BUT how do i code it to work the remote locking?

is there some kind of procedure I do using a working key? Or is this a "take it to fiat" job? in which case, ill pass :(

Thanks
Chris

you can teach your car to accept any remote new or used. all you need to use is a 4 digit code from a remote that is already programmed in.

each remote key should have its own 4 digit code on a paper or plastic keyring, as shown in this pic.

when new, your car had 2 remotes programmed in. if you have the 4 digit code from either of these original remote keys you can use either code to programme any remote in, even one of my remotes (cool if you had 2 cars and wanted both to open :)).

so the big question, do you have either code?

if you dont you are buggered.
