Code Key Light??

I have just brought a Fiat Punto P Reg 1997 and after i fitted the CD player a light come on on the bottom left hand side which was a key with "code" under it, is this anything to worrie about and does anyone know why its there??

Did you fit a product made specially for the punto (i.e. a Blaupunkt) or was it something you got from Halfords or somewhere?

If it's come out of another Punto, or other car, it probably has a security code. The person you purchased it from will have the security code; although there are many people (and I'm sure someone on here does this, too) who can supply codes for your stereo, if you have its serial number (which should be on a sticker on the headunit somewhere).

If its an aftermarket from Halfords or somewhere, it may have a security code, but its unlikely. Check the handbook of it and see if you can find the code.

that is the light for your keys are u using the red key because this is the master key and some times it can open the system but not clese it till u turn the ignition off if it is u are using the red key then u need to get a blue one cut and put the red one somewhere safe if u have any more problems give me a call on 07920555297 i have worked for a fiat dealer for 8 years so i no all the tricks and i live in stoke
