what parts to buy and rough idea of labour costs

do i need to buy a whoel clutch kit\?
if so why..if all it need is to b adjusted or bled???

sorry if i seem angry..but im not just a stright answer i need
saves me hassle of beign in two minds

thanks to those who did give the right answer to several cluthc questiosn on this..

i changed my clutch slave cylnder a month ago so i have done this part already..

There is no clutch cable, it is all hydraulic.

Check the brake fluid reservoir, if it is low you have a leak somewhere, as they use the same fluid reservoir.

Then get it bled and see what the outcome is.

Hope that helps :)

Those answers don't look contradictory to me...they're just multiple solutions for what you're problem COULD be. We can only give you 100% confident answers by experiencing your specific problem first hand.

My advice to you would be start at the cheapest/easiest option and work down the list.

People usually offer cheaper alternative solutions, hence why some say buy a new 3 piece clutch and others say check the master and slave cyliners and possibly bleed the fluid through with new fluid.

Theres a lot that can cause similar problems, normally cheap fixes solve the problem which means you dont need to pay out alot of money on something you dont need. For example, if you replaced the clutch and still had the same problem you would be mighty angry for paying over £200 for a new clutch.

Its always best unless it obvious to try the cheaper alternative first, or atleast rule out the cheaper possibilities of not being the cause of the fault.

HI I CHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID
IT SEEM PERFECT TO ME
I REMEBER WHEN IT WAS TOPPED AND THERE HASNT BEEN ANY MOVEMENT SINCE

WHAT WILL BE THE NEXT STEP

THANK to the replies
sorry for caps

liek i said i needed clearing up
sorry if it didnt seem this way.

if the brake fluid level as far as your aware hasnt moved since the new slave cylinder has been fitted then you need a new clutch

when you say the biteing point is high, when you release the clutch do you get any slip... as in you put your foot down at say 30mph in 5th gear, do the revs just go up and no momentum picked up or is there no slip? easiest way to test this is to start the car, put it in 4th gear an try pulling away with the hand break well on, so your pulling against it. if the revs build and the car doesnt stall the clutch needs replacing

for a garage to replace the clutch aswell as supplying you are looking at around £200 if you can find somewhere that will do the work (i had massive trouble finding someone that would work on my 1.2 because it was a Fiat) avoid Mr Clutch at all costs, they are uselss inept cowboys that charge going rate if not more for sub standard parts and labour

the 1.2 is easy to do the clutch on, i did mine last week, getting the gearbox off is no real issue and theres more than enough space in there to move around

NO SLIPPPING
IT DEFO STALLS..

now what lol

cheers for the reply..

bleed the clutch system. possible air trapped inside or a leak..

re

i agree with bleeding the system, if it got low or while the master cylinder was changed then you coudl of trapped some air, better to have it bled than spend mega bucks on new clutch then find out it only needed bleeding.
