Hi,

I am new to this forum so a big hi!

I live in Bonaire, Dutch Caribbean and am the proud owner of the only 1998 Panda classic.

However, I have run into an issue (I have read about a similar issue here) where I can't get it into 1st gear unless I turn the engine off. Reverse is also a real "grind".

I am guessing the clutch may need replacing but will check gearbox oil and cable.

What I am looking for is the manual for this model so I can familiarise myself with the layout.

If it is the clutch I will be waiting a good while for the clutch to be shipped

Thanks for some guidance.

Cheers, Tim

Hello and welcome! Sounds like your on the right path with checking the cable and gear oil. Maybe check the linkage to but if all these are ok probably the clutch is gone. If your after a Manuel then Haynes or Porters are good and usually pop up on ebay quite often (y)

If it is the clutch then as you say you'll be waiting a while so best crack open a bottle of Malibu and smoke some home grown and the time will just sail by :p

Does it go into gear easily with the engine turned off? If this is the case then it is a worn clutch

Ok, it was a simple step. Tightened the clutch cable about 1/2 inch and run through all the gears with ease.

Thanks for your help guys,

Tim
