Technical Clutch idling while not pressed down

Hi,

While not being pressed down the clutch sometimes makes an idling noise. Lifting the clutch use to stop the noise. Any idea what this could be?

Idling is the wrong word. The clutch makes a noise sometimes while not pressed down.

If there's more noise than you'd expect, it might be just the thrust bearing. Or worse, the thrust bearing wearing its way through the 'fingers' of the clutch plate.

In either scenario, as long as it works ok, just leave it. After that it's clutch replacement time.
