Technical Clutch help?????

Check first with clutch slave off the operation of release arm, before removing gearbox.
If you put it in gear and turn the key and still have no drive then assuming driveshafts fully engaged you are down to a gearbox out.:(
This is my plan tomorrow slave cylinder first .
Apart from looking at the external bit of the shaft how can I tell the shafts are fully home

No pushed it up fully then put the bolts in but as I was laying on my back there may of been a bit of bolts pulling it in

Fingers xed the input shaft splines were aligned with splines in friction plate.
Some one on here didn't get the splines aligned and when bolting up the centre of friction plate. was pushed out of friction plate.

Similar symptoms to you.

Drive shaft splines have to align with diff splines to go in correctly and get drive

Generally they CV joint part is right up close to the diff housing and of course shouldn't wobble around.
If engine running in gear and handbrake safely on it may be possible to see if the drive shaft joints are doing anything strange by looking from the side under at gearbox, but do be careful!!!!!

Yes matey hand brake will be on and blocked wheels also front end will be up on stands

The only other thought is, if you were struggling on your own lifting the gearbox and it was hanging on the centre plate splines, it could have caused damage.
I have done many on site on my own in the past including Ducatos and Iveco Daily's , but towards retirement I did balance them on a jack to take the weight and I couldn't even dream about doing that now!
I did always lube the splines and check the centre plate slide on to gearbox splines easily , plus careful alignment of centre plate when tightening pressure plate to flywheel.
The last thing I needed was the gearbox not going straight on when my heartbeat was going through the roof at the same time.;)

Wrong parts

If you still have the old clutch slave it might be worth putting it back on.

there’s only a few things it could have been! 1 slave cylinder (it’s new and now leaks) or clutch kit ( as I said from GSF)
You've said the clutch kit was from GSF but you haven't explicitly said the slave cylinder also came from there. I mean it shouldn't be leaking so quickly - is it from somewhere else?

Sorry bloody auto correct!!!
Yes it’s from GSF as well and I meant no leaks !! 😂

Hi, sending you positive thoughts and good weather.... any news?
Jack
Hi buddy I’ve sorted it ! Thank Christ!!!
I started with slave cylinder, no leaks and all worked fine when clutch was depressed, looked through the little inspection hole and could see the pressure plate working fine , but I started strip down anyway, everything was going well but the O/s driveshaft wouldn’t come out of the diff no matter how big the pry bar ! So I just took the shaft out and left the cv joint in the diff and continued to remove the box once all out I found the bloody issue, with the box out I started to remove the shaft joint from the diff when I noticed the problem, the female spline holes the mat the shafts should slide into should be horizontal I.e facing the shaft input hole obviously 🙄 but instead of being quarter to 3 somehow it’d gone vertical I.e 6pm, so when I’d put the shafts back in yesterday they went in between the spline holes, and the little circular ring was stopping the o/s cv joint from coming out so I had to split the diff down also, but it’s all out now and back together, whilst it was out I removed the clutch kit and checked the friction plate on the gearbox splines and was all good so GSF are off the hook! 😂 but at least the weather was good , red hot here in Sheffield in fact so it made the job more palatable! But best tool I finally got was a pressurised brake bleeder, so easy!!
But thanks all the same
Phil
