I have a 2006 2.3 JTD that had gearbox problems resulting in a very expensive overhaul. Following the job I noticed there is no cover over the bell housing where the clutch fork goes through from the slave cylinder. I can look straight into where the fork engages with the thrust bearing. I have looked at parts suppliers but cannot find any mention of a cover over this hole. Does anyone know if there was there a cover originally and if so, where can I get one?

Thanks corcai. I will be in the UK next week and plan to pick one up (as well as other bits) as parts are much cheaper there. If I have model, year, etc will that be enough as there seems to be variants from the link you supplied? Maybe even a photo of the hole?

The google search has the part number i dont think there is a variant some pics of it are the bottom, some are the top and one is stretched in the resizing of the image. If you post your vin number i can doible check. Part goes from 1994 to 2011 so I imagibe they will have it in stock.

Thanks again. The VIN is ZFA24400007821325 Do you know what the official name of the part is so I don't have to fluff around trying to explain it to a parts shop?

Its called a boot, part number for yours is definitely: 1489893080

Citroen part number should be: 2121 48 and is €3.25

Citroen call it "Clutch Folk Bellows" obviously supposed to be fork not folk

Fiat price isn't listed but Fiat are usually twice the price for things like that.
