Good evening everyone,

During my gearbox refresh I’ve encountered a puzzle with the nylon bushes that support the clutch fork lever.

Upon removal I noted the top nylon bush was badly worn and the bottom was completely missing!
I’ve purchased, from a reputable source, a set of new nylon bushes (both 19mm OD) and found it fits snugly in the top (first image) however they are far too large for the lower support (second image)
The lower holes appear to be 17mm however I cannot find any references to a smaller 17mm bush.
Has anyone encountered this issue before? Is there a smaller 17mm bush for the lower support?

Comments on the images: the gearbox is upside down for ease of access / photography and yes I acknowledge the bushes are suppose to be pushed in from the other direction, again ease of photography
Supporting info: 500 F gearbox (crash box) with a 126 bell housing mated to a 126 engine.

Thanks in advance

If I understand you correctly, the small bush-hole is in your '126' bell-housing. I have never heard of, or seen, this in a standard '126' bell-housing. Last year I ordered some of these bushes from "Van de Laan" in Holland, and initially they sent me back some bushes which were too small for the clutch release-fork pivot-shaft---they wouldn't go over the shaft. A quick e-mail to Patrick Hamers at 'Van de Laan' resolved the problem. Where did you get your '126' bell-housing from? Another way round the problem might be to contact Lucasz at 'L.P. Garage'in Sudbury (Suffolk). He breaks 126s and might have a bell-housing for sale. I have bought a lot from him over the years--never had a problem. Feel free to use my name (Tom Montagu) as a reference.
