Hi,

The engine starts to be ready for fitting back to the car. How do you recommend the procedure to get the clucth and clutch shaft to be centerized. I have unmounted and changed the clutch plate and this should be centerized with the shaft from gearbox? With eye :)?

Jake,
I used a spare transmission input shaft but if you don't have one and don't wish to buy the tool (looks just like a short input shaft), try using an appropriate diameter pine dowel or even a broomstick ...
You could always fit the clutch pressure plate loosely enough to allow for a bit of lateral movement in the friction plate and then trial fit it to the transmission in the car. Once it mates, carefully remove the engine and tighten the pressure plate to the recommended torque setting.

Ok. Good idea to center it with transmission, thanks!

Masking tape wrapped around a bolt. Tape can be added and removed to get a tight fit.

Hi Jake;
You could of course look very proffesional (and convince onlookers that you know what you're doing!) by purchasing a 'Universal Clutch alignment Tool' from (probably) your local car accesory shop. These kits comprise a common central shaft and a variety of 'slide-ons' for the spigot-shaft bush (in the flywheel) and for the clutch centre-plate. The beauty of these kits is that they will fit a variety of cars and you could lend it to you mates (and possibly even make a bit of money with it!). just a thought.:)

I will check tomorrow from one car accessory shop!
Thanks!
