Hello all.
A quickie, not had Stilo long but cant help but think they may be
something a miss with my indicators, as in when engaging the stork either way unless the steering wheel is a certain direction, there is a really anoying clank/click. Cant help but think that on a brand new car it shouldnt be the case. Is everyone else aok with theirs? Need to take car back re clutch so need to know whether to mention it..

Cheers folks...

Hi,

Have this problem on mine too, if I'm trying to indicate left for example and the steering is to the left it crunches and wont keep indicating.

Once the wheel is straightened I can engage the indicators as normal.

Andy

P.S. The one I've got now is getting exchanged for a new one next week (the garage have agreed to swop for a car of exact spec. except colour) so wish me luck. I'll let you know if the indicators do the same on the new one

Mine are the same. ALso, they seem to knock themselves off too soon, or else not at all.

Hi,
Ditto on all above, thay stay on sometimes and sometimes thay wont come on after a crunch, makes life interesting dont it?

Cheers guys.
If it is just the way the car is made then its pretty poor, Ill certainly mention it. Hope I get these little probs sorted cos I really like the car otherwise,(God to I think I nearly bought a Focus[:0]). Good luck with your new one Andy, seems like pretty good service(if its ok!)..

Bosie,

Me and my dad have always had Fiats (always from the same garage) so when I threatened to take mine and his business to a rival garage in Middlesbrough, the sales manager instantly said "what can I do to put it right for you Andrew"

Instantly I said "You could swop it for another 02 dynamic" no problem was the reply, I was quite surprised but I just hope the car is reasonable when I see it tomorrow afternoon.

Have this "problem" too.
Seems like it's the way the car is made not letting you use the indicator when you are already turning. And the car is wright since you should use the indicator before turning :D

The self cancelling seems a bit strong and it a bit near the straight ahead but I found that it didn't take long to get used too.

It'd be boring if all cars were the same.....

-- UPDATE --

Went to see the car the garage had found me, not good [xx(]
It was in bordeax rose (like very dark purplish brown) not I colour I'm fond of (sorry if anyone has it ;) so I said no. The best part of it is though the sales manager (yes manager!) said on the phone it was Scilla Red so I was expecting a dark red verging on burgundy, not dark burgundy like the bordeaux.

Hey Ho! He's gonna have another look, so hopefully he'll find something more suitable. Probably one someone has had re-sprayed in pink with a massive daisy on the bonnet [xx(][xx(]

Oh the joys of the dealer cock ups...

I'm on my second Stilo in as many months - the first one was rejected after about 5 minutes!

The friendly salesman reliably informed me that all the used Stilos on the forecourt had air conditioning and being the trusting sort of guy I am I believed him and picked a nice Orion Grey number - when I came to pick it the temperature was well into the high 20's so went straight for the aircon button only to find a blank!

Credit to the salesman though - he put his hands up to it straight away and agreed to swap it for another 02 Stilo. I ended up with the Crystal Green as the other options were Navy Blue, Jet Blue and you guessed it...Bordeaux Rose!

I ended up getting to drive round in the one without aircon for the rest of the week whilst they prepped up the new one and got them to chuck in a tank of petrol and a set of mats which was a result...or so I thought - the mats actually turned out to be from a Rover 400 and were put in face doen to fit the footwell!!!

After 2 months of 'enjoying the good life' the only gripes I have are the indicators and the fact the Active only came with a tape deck (don't Fiat realise no one buys tapes anymore?)

I've got used to the indicators now, but have to remember to check them, especially when joining a motorway from a slip road etc.

I nearly bought the crystal green stilo that purplemonday has, we have the same dealer!! I bought the first one from this dealership, when they took over Fiat in June and had the choice of a range of colours. Ended up with Sassy Grey (pale metalic blue to you and me!).:)

If you still have probs with them, I'll send my 'other half' with you, 'cos he's managed to sort them out for me.

By the way, the charge for the retrofitted alarm was extortion - £250

Beep if you see me around[8D]
