Grande Punto, opened cover of clock Spring to change the light stalk, easy.
re-assembled ok. Every revolution of the steering wheel there is an annoying click. Inside the housing for the clock Spring, mounted separately on the case, there is a little Spring mounted lever that brushes by a tab on the rear of the clock Spring inner circle, once per revolution. I am sure it is that causing the annoying clicking. It did not do that originally and there seems to be nothing to retract the lever when clockspring is mounted on the steering column. I cannot see any purpose for this spring mounted lever! Is it ok to remove it? Anyone got any knowledge of this?
