Tbh there is very little i think you can do

You can try taking them out and leaving them in a suitable cleaner to allow any deposits to break down and be pumped out

Didnt dave try an ultrasonic cleaner on some once?

tbh, if you run a tank of quality super and a snake oil addative, i would have thought u'd be 90% there

Leave them alone.

*If you pull them out there's some risk of damage and you'll really need new O rings.
*Ultrasonic bath and pulsing 12v through them is the way to go, but you've no way of testing them afterwards
*You can send them off to get them cleaned/tested but it's not cheap
*Modern petrols contain stuff to clean injectors
*Injectors which need cleaning tend to stick open rather than shut

It's a Mk2 Punto, FCS. Save your money or spend it on a decent tuning book.

Just wondering if you can clean the fuel injectors? I want to give everything a proper clean!

i tried a bottle of Ziggy's snake oil aditive "injector cleaner" didnt notice any difference but didnt really expect to, going to give it half a tank of the 97 ron stuff dont expect any difference. but worth a try.
if your looking for more fuel economy drive in your slippers instead of rigger boots

I use 99ron instead of 97, and on 99 my engine is so much more peppy, it just runs alot happier on the stuff....

I find in my work boots - i slip clutch and anchor on alot, because you cant feel anything :(

I've left the injectors in mine alone: as fingers99 says, you could easily damage them, or their seals. But I regularly use Redline fuel system cleaner (Redline call it "SI-1") in my Sporting and all our other cars. Quite expensive, but a bottle treats about 400 litres of fuel, and you don't have to use it all the time.

Some manufacturers (inc BMW) recommend the Redline cleaner is used regularly to keep the injectors "as new". You can also use a higher dose for a quick clean-up , then back to a small dose in each tank to keep things good.

I commute into London and have done so on various motorbikes and scooters. I always plot my mileage and consumption using http://www.spritmonitor.de/en/

I've found on every bike I've done it on, the superfuels like Shell V Power, BP Ultimate, Tesco momentum pay off. Bikes run smoother and get enough improved MPG to cover the extra cost per litre.

I'm pretty cynical about wonder additives and fuels and actually started using BP Ultimate and monitoring my fuels to prove it was no different to any other fuel and had to eat humble pie when I proved otherwise! :D

Try running atank ful of Shell V Power ands see what you think.

I agree with Taipan that Shell have the best fuel. I use it when i see it.

BP seems good too, but I can't cope with BP filling stations, as there always seems to be a big queue, one person serving, and they have to keep stopping to make coffee for van drivers...

I don't use any fuel additives apart from Redline SI-1.
