I clean my Bravo Sport regularly but dont spend hours over it. What I cant ever seem to get clean is the front of the driver and passenger doors at the bottom where all of the road cruft from the front wheels ends up. This always still looks musty after a good wash as no amount of shampooing or scrubbing will get it all off - I had the same problem with my Fiesta once I began doing more miles. Anyone know of any tricks of removing this ground in dirt without trashing the paint please? TY.

It could be tar so all youll need is some autoglym intensive tar remover or autosmart tardis just spray onto a applicator sponge/microfibre then rub the area leaving a few minutes then wipe off.
I reccomend bilt hamber clay and buy the regular grade. Blue box-reg/clear box-soft.

if you need any more info on claying etc just let me know, also 1 day it would be beneficial if you could wash, clay, polish and then wax your car as in the future it will make it alot easier to remove the dirt on the lower panels etc

Ideal World sell a thing called Showroom Shine it is amazing, I have had a BLACK fiat stilo since last summer. Part of my job involves valeting vehicles, so i have free accress to any type of polish and cleaner you can get for free, thus i had the most shiney waxed car about:D .

I used to use auto glym polish then there high deff wax (which at £30 or more but good)

Then i found Showroom shiney and saw the advertisment where they clean a dirty bit of paint by jsut spraying a thin mist of it on and then wipe of off with a cloth!!! no water nothing!!!! i was not convinsed by this so i jsut moved channel, few weeks later my mate (who is a clean freak and does car touch ups) shown me this bottle of showroom shine and started cleaning my bonnet. i said to him what are you doing, you will grind alll grit in, but when he wiped it off. It was perfect and not a mark on it.

I ordered a tripple pack of this and it is perfect for cleaning and putting a prottected shine on your car. you just spray on, wipe in, let it dry then wipe off. I jsut work my car quickly around the car and by the time i work around it is dry so wipe off.

It is quicker than using a brush and shammy and it shines it too!! I even do it while waiting in the car park for people

.....what?

The only product I've ever used that can clean a car from dry without scratching it to death was Optimum No Rinse and I'm fairly certain they have numerous patents on their product. There's a reason these cheap 'no wash' products appear to make the car shiny and that's because they contain fillers that fill the scratches they themselves are the cause of!

Avoid them like the plague if you want to keep your car looking spotless. A decent 2 bucket wash with a good wash mitt and a dry with a deep pile towel is the best method to use by far.

Thanks folks and thanks for the offer of further help Adrian.

Oddly I washed my car the other day after the snow and was preparing to do battle with the behind-the-wheel-muck when I found that the harsh weather had removed all of it!

I will investigate the options as described however - my car has lenticular paint though, are the products mentioned safe to use please? Thanks.
