complaints of the chassis being unstable, even though theyre underpowered?

im assuming you have the diesel if you paid 12k. the petrol 1.4 with the 205 engine in it definitely has a seicento tank in it. the tutor made a point of showing us it.

the guy at the training centre was most derisory about them. there were alot of other parts shared between platforms that i cant remember, but we were all distinctly unimpressed.

i think something else he showed us was the fact the rear wiper was too short or hadnt been converted from LHD or something? so that when it wiped you could still see bugger all out the back window.

and the rear seats werent removeable or didnt fold flat or something?

glad youre happy with yours, im just saying from a techies point of view they gave off the impression they'd been a parts bin raid that had been thrown together at a price.

surely 12k is better spent on a Doblo/Multipla?

Rear seats come out fine. The tipping over problem is unrelated to cost, as the A-Class shows. It's certainly built to a budget, but if you're unconvinced by sharing parts across marques and platforms, thank the lord you don't work for VAG (y)

Oh, yeah and the rear wiper IS crap:bang:

its not so much parts sharing across platforms that bothers me, just what they were sharing.

the guy made a point of showing us the fuel tank as he knew we would all groan, anyone thats been with fiat for a while is sick of the sight of cinquecento/seicento tanks.

it could be we saw an early pre-production model or something? you know, the ones they build that cant go on the road so get given to the training centres?

im not on here to wind anyone up or anything like that, i just remember thinking that if fiat couldnt be arsed to build it properly, the guy at training couldnt be arsed to show us anything other than what was crap about it and nobody at our dealership seemed interested in it then qubos and i got off to a bad start!

i think i just remember being so disappointed with them because fiat were starting to undo the bad reputation cars like the stilo, ulyssee etc had got them by bringing out the 500, grande punto, relaunching abarth etc, and this just seemed a bit half arsed really.

like ive said though, maybe we just saw a pre-pro one or something.
