id say about 0.6 - 0.8 bar... the astra turbo over heats the charge at high boost.

As ive mentioned loads of times on here the astra turbo is to small. need a gt1549

cheers 4 the advice
any idea of what cars have these turbos fitted?

lots of cars. rovers have some nice ones.

be careful tho as some are variable vain turbos which wont work on a petrol car iirc these are called GT1549V

for say the 75 or 45 diesel?
any idea on how to tell the diference, as il have to get rid of my astra turbo and dont really want to be stuck with two turbos dat arent suitable

A chip won't be of any real use -- it won't understand boost. If SPI you need an Aquamist MF2 and a FCD. If MPI you need an aftermarket ECU.

i have a fcd, i cant seem to find mf2, any ideas? i.e second hand or on the cheap (y)

Dont have a clue about mf2's

One, im a n/a boy and two, i have megasquirt

If i were to build a tubby motor, i would deffo go mpi and aftermarket ecu.
Ive seen too many people bust engines, or getting a v/a kit and ending up with nothing from that kit as they've swapped it all for bigger/better stuff over time

anybody no if it would be possible to uprate the fuel pump instead of using a second injector?

not possible as the regulator would just dump all the extra fuel back to the tank.

I suggest you read all the turbo threads....from arron, craig, jason, alaina/RC, fingers, donna ect ect then have a think and do the job properly instead of looking for a cheap bodges like trying to swap pumps to avoid a second injector.

There must be hundreds of threads on turbos, most say the same thing, so please read them
