Hey there everyone!

I'm new to the forum and have spent many hours over the last few days reading stories and tips for my cinquecento and it has helped a lot with all the work I'm doing currently

I have a black cinquecento sporting 1.1 and have decided to start modifying, mainly for performance because when I'm driving, as much as I love it already, I feel my cinq could do with a bit more of a kick! So get used to seeing my name posted around a lot, although I have quite a good knowledge of cars I am only 17 and not a mechanic :)

So basically has anyone got any tips on modifying a cinq, best place to start, best place to buy parts?.. Also, I know this is a common problem with most cinq's, including mine, WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO KEEP THE ENGINE COOL? Any particular parts I can get?

Just fitted and air induction kit today and it sounds awesome, can't wait to get paid this week so can go and buy more parts!! woo

Mods I already have:
Air Induction Kit
Red and black leather custom gear knob, matching steering wheel soon to follow
I have replaced:
Alternator
header tank
radiator
head gasket
All due to over heating problem!

P.S Where and how do you install a Air Breather Valve Cover Filter? Anyone got any decent pictures of one they have installed and where they put it

P.P.S As I'm asking all these questions its only fair I give something back so heres a bit of advise for any young drivers reading this, use NFU (National Farmers Union) for car insurance, there amazingly cheap!!!! I spent 4 months trying to find decent insurance, being only 17 I was getting quotes around £1500, with NFU I'm paying just over £350!

What is their view on the proposed modifications?

doesnt it cost a bomb to join the NFU tho??

No need to join to use their insurance.

Everyone seems to be missing the point here I dont want to talk about insurance I want to talk about Mods!! :)

But yes NFU are very good

A lot of young people drive centos and would like to modify them, but most insurance companies are sore enough witha standard car, they don't want to entertain modifications at all.

Therefore information about an insurer who is rreasonably priced and not bothered by modifications is very important to a lot of members on here.

And

Modificxations are such a personal subject. What suits you might not suit me. What you like, I might not like.

Frinstance, I have no 'stereo' in my car. No sub, no head unit, nadda.

im only 17 aswell and have a red fiat cinquecento sporting 1.1 im llooking to modify mine but not sure what to do it tbh, at the moment im thinking just the usual stuff like, alloys, straight through exhaust, body kit, not much else u cn do to it maybe a good audio installation and interior customization but thats about it really :)

the best way probably is to convet the air box into a cone filter and put in a cold air feed, but because of the position of it, i personaly would just cut out a secion of the bonnet over the air box or something, whever u think best and put in a vent, best way to keep cool

Forget putting filters on the cam box breather. It's pointless on an NA car, and is a surefire MOT fail.

HiFingers

As I read it the OP already has an air filter kit fitted mayhap his cam cover breather stub has nothing connected to it... and he is asking for advice?
